a little something for you

Four years, a lot of distance, and one very stubborn heart. Meri Jaan this is everything else I have never said out aloud.

You made it ✦

Just like in real life — the distance was never really a match for us. We always find our way to each other.

our story so far

Almost four years

Not a straight line — a road with more turns than either of us expected.

the beginning

Before we knew what this was

It started quietly, the way most important things do, without either of us realizing how much it would come to mean. There was no way to know it would become four years and still going. Who knew the college boy would fall so hard that he wouldn't be able to stand up after this.

along the way

The good days, and the hard ones

It hasn't been easy. There were ups that felt like nothing could touch us, and downs that felt like the end of it. We fought, we misunderstood each other, we came back. Every hard day taught us something the good ones couldn't.

what it cost

What we gave up for each other

We both sacrificed things to keep this alive — time, comfort, certainty, sometimes peace of mind. Our families became part of this story too, in ways that made it more real and, at times, more complicated. I still remember the first call with your Dad. None of it was small. All of it was worth it.

right now

The distance

We're apart right now, and it's hard — some days harder than others. Long distance doesn't get talked about enough: how much it takes to love someone across a screen and still make it feel like they're close. I know it's hard — the distance is difficult to bear, but we can get through this too. We've been through enough already.

for you

A letter

"
My Arhama,

Four years ago I didn't know that loving you would mean learning what it feels like to really fight for something — not against you, but for us. You've given up more than I can put into words to keep this going, and I see it, every single time, even on the days I don't say it out loud.

Our families have been part of this journey too, and I know that hasn't always been simple. Thank you for holding on through that, for holding on through the distance, for still choosing me from wherever you are.

I won't pretend the distance doesn't hurt. It does — for both of us. But if four years of ups and downs have taught me anything, it's that whatever we go through, we go through it together, even when "together" means a phone call at the wrong time zone.

This is just a small thing I made to remind you: you are loved, you are seen, and this distance is temporary — my choice to love you isn't.

Always yours, Musa

Until the distance is just a story we used to tell

Every day, every call, every "I miss you" is one day closer to not needing this website to say it — because you'll be right here.

I love you, Arhama. I always will. — Musa
